Courses in Proteomics

A two-week course consists of basic theory as well as practical applications. Teaching will be performed through lectures, seminars, demonstrations, and individual exercises. The following basic topics on proteomics will be covered:

  • Sample preparation and separation strategies
  • Mass spectrometry techniques
  • Quantitative mass spectrometry
  • Characterization of post-translational modifications
  • Proteome bioinformatics including database search and experimental design
  • Pathway analysis using Ingenuity Pathway Analysis

Invited speakers will highlight cutting-edge research techniques in proteomics and related fields. Practical exercises and demonstrations during two full weeks will illustrate hands-on techniques in proteomics including posttranslational modification analysis, mass spectrometry of peptides, quantitative mass spectrometry and database searches.
